    Hi all
    i have 2 questions about macromedia flash
    1) is it installed inside web pages of some sites so that if you visit there and are not running it or don't have the latest version you are prompted to download it
    2) is it correct if you dont have your direct x version up to date you will not be able to run the latest flash version.
    also if anyone knows of a pdf /website about how flash works with direct x it would also be helpful

    Answer to your first question. Websites that ask you to update have a bit of html code that links you to the macromedia website. It checks if your up to date and if you need an update you will be asked to download it.

    Here is an example of the code:

    </OBJECT></center>

    The #version=4,0,0,0 tells you what version you need and it compares it against what you have.
