I had a "blue screen of death" this morning on my XP machine. Since which I haven't been able to get the machine to boot.

I can see the SATA HD in the bios so I assume it's a software problem. I installed an old HDD as a master and had a look around. The other HDD shows and all the files are okay. I ran a virus check, chkdsk and eve defragged the drive and yet it will still not boot!

I've checked the boot.ini and that is okay... I dont have the XP disc anymore and so can't really try to repair the installtion. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi

What Service Pack is your Windows XP at?

What is the BSOD message in full that you get?

Can you boot into Safe Mode? (F8 at boot)
