    Hello there!

I've been having trouble with my computer as of late. I just installed a new motherboard, CPU, and hdd. I switch on my computer and it works fine. But then I restart my computer and my monitor screen is black. I check my video card (ATI 4870 1GB), and there's 3 out of 4 lights on when I turn my computer on.

That means that my card isn't getting enough power, I think? Well, I leave it off for a day or two and turn it on today. The power light on the back of my rig is flickering and the light on my mobo is on, but nothing else is. Also, my computer won't turn on.

The mobo I installed is a ASUS M4A79T Deluxe with an AMD Phenom II 955+ CPU and a seagate 1TB HDD. Along with that are 2 DVD drives, a WD 320GB HDD, an ASUS 4870 1GB video card, and a Razer Barracuda AC-1 audio card.

My power supply is a SolyTech SL-8600EPS 600 Watt PSU. Actual wattage is 585 watts

    Any idea on the problem?

Thanks for your time...reading my wall of text.

If the light on the back of the psu is flicking and your pc wont turn on and post I would say it's a bad PSU.

Well. As I write this, I successfully turned on my PC. But the videocard is still displaying those 3 lights saying it doesn't have enough power. I'm gonna go outon a limb and say my budget PSU can't handle my rig...?

Did you plug the power cable into your video card if it has it.

Well, I bought a new PSU and I still have a problem with my video card... The same three lights are on. D1601, D1602, and D1603. The new PSU is a Coolmax CUG-950B.

And yes, my card has 2 6-pin connectors that are properly connected as far as I know.

I guess it could be a bad video card perhaps.

Figured out it was a problem with the 3v battery...but now I have a new problem, lol.

The system works until I have to go into my BIOS setup. There I change the boot priorities to CD drive first, and save & exit. Then my system goes into a state where nothing is in except my movo lights and three lights on my 4870. I have to take out the 3v battery and restart my system, but it doesn't save my bios configuration. So I have to go back into bios, change priorities, etc. Then when it restarta it goes into an unusable state again, ending with me removing and inserting the 3v battery once more.

    Any tips?
