That was very interesting!!!! Thanks for the reminder...I had forgotten about it!!!

I think my wife went through a whole roll of toilet paper!!!!

I'm a firm beliver in destiny...and everything happens for a reason...and thank god for them...we still have a white house in fine shape!!!! Their fate was VERY unfortunate...but their courage saved the lives of hundreds of people...plus...could you imagine the chaos on top of the WTC if the white house had been hit!!!!????

I didn't watch it. I happen to feel it is too early to be showing that. There are kids out there who may never really know their Mom or Dad, and haven't been able to come to terms with it all. Adults are still torn apart with loss and the aggression and destruction behind it. I think it is sad that profit speaks louder than compassion IMHO.

I agree. It just seems too soon. I'm sure eventually there will be a Hollywood movie adaptation depicting the entire thing, kinda like Pearl Harbor. Hopefully that will be many years from now.

Well, to be honest at first I thought it was going to be some totally scripted movie with lots of actors and made up dialogue... in actuality, it was much more set up like a documentary. There was a commentator directing the sequence of events and like 70% of the show was interviewing with family members describing the conversations that they had with the people on the plain... Also, I liked how they didn't make up the final moments of what transpired. They left it open to opinion and just had some of the family members comment on what they think happened in the last moment, but they do know that the passengers stormed the cockpit and that's really all that's important.

There were lots of facts i learned that I was oblivious to. Like how Flight 93 was delayed on the tarmac which caused it to take off much later than the other 4 planes (all 4 hijackings were supposed to take place at roughly the same time). The Hijackers on Flight 93 waited much longer than the other suicide squads once the flight was in air to act. The terrorist flying Flight 93 had no clue what he was doing. They said that everytime they turned the autopilot off these alarms would go off and they wouldn't know how to stop them, so they'd have to turn the autopilot back on and would wind up repeating the process. Passengers on the phone with their loved ones reporting the plane dropping altitude at a high rate on 2 separate occasions... I question whether or not this inexperienced pilot (who they reported only had flight simulator training) would have been able to hit the White House.

And honestly, I don't know how much profit DSC could have made off this because the entire thing was commercial free, both back to back airings (4 hours worth)...

My favorite part of the documentary was hearing one family member of a victim characterize the actions of the passengers on Flight 93 as the first battle in the war on terror.

I agree with the whole thought of it being too early to be exploited!!! But, being that it was a documentary on the discovery channel...I figured I would give it a shot...and I'm glad I did!! I thought it was handled very well!!!! If it were a made for TV movie, or something like that...I most definately wouldn't have watched it!!! Not only that...I personally hadn't seen/heard in the past the recognition for flight 93 like all the other victoms of the WTC and the pentagon...maybe I live a sheltered life...I don't know...but it seems like all the hooorraaaahs were dedicated more towards the other victims!!!! I don't know if it was because they crashed into an open field, instead of a national landmark...but their anticipated, unselfish acts prevented that!!!! IMO...I think last nights show kind of helped boost the recognition and heroism of the flight 93 victims and their families!!!!

The internet search engine..."Ask Jeeves" was one of the major co-sponsors of the show...in order to not have to sell commercial airtime!!!

I was on a flight in the summer of 2002. We had taken off and they were showing a round-up of the year's news. I couldn't believe it. There was the news coverage of that awful day. What a choice of viewing!
