When I turn my system, which is win 98SE, it boots up and I receive a message: floppy disk fail, and in order to boot up, I have to hit F1, to pull up my windows desktop.

Can someone help me. I have a donated system, which unfortunately, did not come with a win 98 se cd rom disk.

Whatever help you can provide will be most appreciated. Thank you very much. Bizzle

Your Floppy drive has, as the message says, probably given up the ghost. To not have to hit F1 each time you will need to change the boot order in your BIOS. As the system boots it will usually tell you what key to hit to get into the BIOS - it will be DEL or something similar. The boot order is probably set at
    1. Floppy
    2. Hard Drive
    3. CD

Change the order so that the HD is first. That should at least fix your boot prblem if not your Floppy drive. :)
