floppy disk file won't load - *.xls

I have a standard floppy with a single large (508kb) excel file on it. When I try to load the file I get varying errors like "the device (drive A: ) not ready" or "disk not formatted" or "data error (cyclic redundancy check)". I've tried a diskcopy to a clean floppy which gives me a floppy I can read but the file is corrupt (or at least won't open). If I do a copy to the hard drive then the file is there but still won't open. Excel launches then shuts itself down immediately. I tried the ms/dos recover command but I keep getting errors and it won't process the file. This file has a lot of data and formatting that I really, really don't want to have to recreate.
Is there a file recovery program that I can use to get this file back? Where would I find it?
I am able to find my way around reasonably well but am far from any kind of expert.

I followed the link and went to Jufsoft's site and looked at "Jufsoft - Products - BadCopy Pro - Overview" then downloaded the trial version. It finds the file and recovers it in HEX format. To get the actual file back I need to buy the product. Any free alternatives before I hit the buy button?

And no guarantee the hex would actualy become a good file.
Try a google search.
