foiled amid malware removal

Hi:

Hope a kind and gentle teacher will help me continue my malware removal process.

I'm very new at this but really struggling to get it right.

I have Windows XP & had WinAntivirus,
drivecleaner and gomyron, I think, that's it.

I got as far as downloading Panda, but, because Internet Explorer says, "blank", I couldn't use it to get Panda and it wouldn't work with my Mozilla Firefox.

I re-downloaded I.E. 6, I think - because it still says, "blank", and I don't know how to check if it really did download or not.

You can see that I'm really confused, now and hope someone can help me get through this!

I have Windows firewall and I got down the Malware list, to using HJT, DAFT, Combofix and Ccleaner.

I'm exhasperated and this is the first time I've done something so involved and challenging with my p.c.

I hope we come out alive.

I did not see a post from you in malware... I don't think you got that far on list. Malware can cause all sorts of problems. I think your IE is working if you got to this site on ur pc.

Usually Malware forum recommends that you do the list in order and post any problems after you finish.

Follow the steps in order, it takes some time but it works start at top of list in link below do steps, Red/Blue Highlights are links to other programs. Do not forget step "0" House Cleaning. Print instructions, and check them off as you do them. I do not see you using CounterSpy, Spybot, AVG...

I am really sorry, we do not help via pm or email, you have to post in the forum. It's for your protection...if I gave bad advice a Moderator or other member would correct me.

I still don't understand what is going on w/your pc tho. If you can get to this site, you should be able to follow the links I supplied.

Please post your questions in the forum and make them as clear as possible. Example: I can surf, but I can't download, when I try to download I get this error message: "insert exact error"

What is happening, are you getting pop-ups? Why do you think it's malware?

Did you do step "0" remove programs on the list, make sure it is the exact program, print list.

Did this start when you downloaded something? What did you download?

Also post your pc specs Like this, Dell 2400, WinXP-SP2
Memory: 1 Gig.

*smiles* you're just at a loss re what to do and I understand we've all been there Take it one step at a time in forum, you will see the light. You're overwhelmed at the moment.

I am only here maybe an hour a day, if you post a question others will try to help you too.

p.s. if you downloaded a coupon program, uninstall it...they are wolves in sheeps clothing, been there
