I'm in the process of backing up files from a harddrive I'm about to reformat, but there's one folder I can't get into-
My account's "Desktop" folder. I never had any passwords to access anything on my computer, so why isn't it letting me in? Every other folder I've needed files from lets me in...
I tried searching for the files I want, but that's restricting me too.
How can I unlock this folder?
    Thanks in advance!

If your using XP/2000, make sure that the account that your logging in with is a member of the local admin group. (Right click on "My Computer" and select "manage." Under "Local Users and Groups," make sure your account is a member of the "administrators" group).
Check the security on the folder also, and see what it's set to.

Yeah, I'd logged in as an admin. There doesn't seem to be many options about security though- all I can do is share the folder over a network. I can't imagine that would work since I can't access it locally.
    Any other options?
