Folder Options

Hello everyone out there. I have a very simple problem that I can't seem to find the solution to. In the past I've run several programs to "Optimize" Win XP or what ever. All I'm trying to do is have each folder keep the "View" option that I pick but every time I try and change it, it goes right back. Any ideas to keep it the different views for each folder?

brwose explorer tools-folder options-view-advanced setting and make sure 'remember folder's view settings' or, something just like that, is checked.

am still looking for other solutions, but this only will take a minute...
are you using sp2? if not, try this. just restore all folders to default. then try to set one how you want. if it satys, then what you have is a problem with windows only being able to remember 400 folder options, so if you change more, it forgets them. this is a VERY simple thing to check. if it works, then you can either get sp2 which ups teh number to 5000, or go here>
