folder protection

    i need to protect a folder whit read only atributes that folder has to be no password protected becose i have a program that will read from the folder
    some one know i program that will do that??????
    also if a take the hard disk to another computer the folder will lock
    there are applicatios that protect exe files to machine id like pcguard
    but i have not find a software that will do for folders
    hope some one can help me!!!!
