Folders and applications opening really slow since yesterday

I run win 7 32 bit and I've had this problem since yesterday: folders started freezing my computer for 1 sec, upon being selected. It takes 1 second for them to be highlithed when clicked and another 1-1.5 sec to actually open folders.

Also some applications such as game launchers take a really long time to load.
For instance the league of legends login screen, which usually opens immediately upon pressing the Play button on the launcher, now takes a sweet 5 minutes before doing so.

    Games and videos run smoothly.

I recently ran a scan with Avast! free version for viruses and i also ran Advanced system care in an attempt to resolve this, but no luck. I am very pedantic about keeping my computer clean, I dont bloat it with useless software, run CCleaner regularily and generally take good care.

Hi my friend , you can download this

    Go to

from the left side you must opt for menu
Summary ( wait 30 seconds until report is generated )
you have to select Report from bar menu
from sub menu Quick Report - Plain Text - opting for Desktop as saving location , follow this

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880

    even go to

Start - Run msconfig - Ok

navigating to startup tab - disabling all boxes - Aplly - Ok

Windows is asking you about rebooting your OS - do it :wave

Doing all that malarky just to attach a post seemed over the top, so i jsut uploaded the report.txt here http://www.2shared.com/document/NIcn4uPn/Report.html

Also, your reply is really vague - im at "normal startup" - i dont have any boxes to disable. The only thing with boxes is selective startup, but thats not he default option.

    Hi

The malarkey to a log does give us some information on PC hardware and Software which can help on occasions, so worth doing as more info is better then less info.

As to your issue, if you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with Networking) then does your PC and apps run ok?

If they do then the 2nd part of falcons post is apt in disable all startups in msconfig and reboot, if the PC runs ok, enable one startup at a time to then find the app that's causing your slowness in opening folders/files.

Its very likely to be a new app you have installed, so think what have you installed lately.

I seem to have another issue now.

My CPU starts at 100% vusy upon starting the computer. Task manager shows that 2 proceses, namely " msvcres.exe " and " framKDBS.exe " each hog 50% of my CPU. If i end them, i lose access to my START button.

    Any suggestions?

    Greetings, Goat.Cheese...

The fact that you are seeing the msvcres.exe and framKDBS.exe coupled with your previous symptoms lead me to believe that the possibility exists that your machine may have become infected (despite your earlier avast! statements).

Just to be safe, I strongly suggest that you perform all of the steps listed in the Read & Run Me First guide, then start a new thread in the Malware Removal Forum and attach the requested logs to your first post(s) in that thread.

Once the Malware Removal gurus give you the all clear then we'll be glad to tackle any remaining problems that you might have.

    Good luck!
