folders on desltop take forever to open

    When i click on folders on my desktop, it takes 1 to 2 minutes for them to open. Also if i try to do a search off the start menu, nothing comes up at all. Not sure how to correct this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Right click on C: Drive,then properties,then TOOLS and run scandisk, then restart the computer then go back in there and run defrag.


    You never said what O.S. you're running I just guessed on XP that you're running.
