Font download

I am having trouble downloading fonts. I do the Control Panel>Font>File>Install New Font. I try to download the font to my a. or c. drive, but then I can't find it in the folders for that drive. How do I get through the download to a folder that I can open to install the new font. I need a Greek font.

Was the font you downloaded in the .zip format?

If so, you have to unzip the contents first. The installer is looking for font files it will not "see" a zipped folder as a font file.

 

Also check the source from which you are downloading the fonts.

 

Yes is file is a .zip, but when I try to open it, I get an offer to buy win.zip. Do I have to purchase this to open the file?

 

Where did you get the file?

You should be able to unzip it without buying win-zip unless it's some sort of promotion thing from the site you downloaded the file from.

 

I have been looking through free font sites and have downloaded 2 to my a drive. I'm using XP. When I look at the folders in my a drive, they have the set of books logo for WinRar and when I open the folder, the files are .ttf. I downloaded 7-zip but I don't know how to open the files. Let's start over, how do I find the font, download the file and then get it to the point that I can open it from the control panel>fonts>install new fonts?

 

When I click on the Folder, I go to the WinRar evaluation copy screen

 

I removed WinRaR. I can open it, but I just get the screen with the type showing DONE and print is the only option.

 

Finally, I can copy Greek... Thanks to Halo and the rest of the platoon.
