These are random samplings...and don't do real justice.

That's impressive. Does it look like that when you first install it?

Aside from the some of the cube effects, yes!

It makes a Windows transition incredibly painless.

In fact, the LiveCD looks largely like that too.

That barely scratches the surface in those screenshots.

That looks like FF. You have a lot of windows open. What kind of resources does it use compared to windows?
My usual is about 28-34 processes running, 30 right now using 389 MB. Most of those processes I can't stop, though.

its SwiftFox. Its more optimized than Firefox, and quite a bit faster.

As for resources, let me check.

Lol, haven't heard of Swiftfox. I was talking about the video. Looks like final fantasy or devil may cry or something.

I really do think it looks better than vista. Can't say much though because I haven't used either one first hand.

I hate not being able to download it now...

Yeah that was Final Fantasy: Advent Children. I just threw it up there to show that the Cube is realtime.

Memory laod runs a little high, but a lot of it can be trimmed and adjusted, just like XP.

So instead of windows this one uses cubes? I knew Linux was fancy (and I will definitely be respected at school :cool ) but I've heard there's a lot of command line to do. Does it need any programming skills? Cuz all I can do is HTML and some adding in Pascal, lol.LOL

The cube is more of a novelty just yet, but as you cans ee, multiple desktops are placed on the cube. They are in realtime, that movie keeps playing even as I manually rotate the cube. Its more of a desktop switcher, and to be safe, OS X did it first. Vista still doesn't do it. Its only a matter of time till someone releases a Beryl or Compiz plugin that does Flip3D, which is the ONLY cool thing Vista has going for it imho.

Beryl is fast too, on my machine anyway. The benchmark shows 500fps, but with XGl, I get 1600fps. I'm using AIGLX, due to lower ram usage. 500fps is more than enough ;)

Linux is still largely CLI driven, but as you can see, there are GUI counterparts for a good chunk of it now.

Like OS X, you cannot tap the true potential or power of the OS by sticking with the GUI. With Windows, you don't get that choice, the CLI is more of a novelty there.

Linux doesn't require programming to run, by any means. Some distros are more difficult than others. Sabayon is based upon a more advanced distro, but has been packaged into something that is easy, even for those who may have never used Linux before.

    Why is that?
