Hello. I have a question about copying to cd. I copies some music from this site http://members.tripod.com/~rosemck1/southern-gospel.html. to my cp. I thought that I would be able then to copy those songs to a cd. I am using a cd burner calle "Burnwrite". I get it to copy but there is no sound, so, it is not working.

All the songs I have d/l to cp is on the site above and the recordings are in the name of John Starnes locate a little ways down the list,

If and when you have time could you check that site out and see it if can be copied to a cd from the cp.

The music plays fine on my cp. I wonder since the music is play in real player would you have to use real player cd burner. I get some that comes up from time to time indicating the need for real player burner.

    Real Media is .ram

ist most likely that you may need to convert it to something readable by a normal CD player, I dont know if Real Media Players built in burner capability will do this for you or not, just on my way out but will check back tomorrow on this thread... but no doubt D3m3nt3d will have found your answer by then Java :)

I know it is ram and when it is saved it goes to real player presentation.

I can get it to copy on the burnright cd burner, and it tells me it has copied
but it does copy any sound.

    Thanks!!

Had a look at those .ram files and they are only a header type of file ( hence the small file size.... 66kbs is too small for a full song even in .ram format ) I downloaded a few to test and once I click the .ram file I get a firewall popup that MediaPlayer wants to access the net, which tells me the main file is on a server somewhere.

This is why when you burn them to a CD you get no music as they actually hold no music, the music is comming off a remote server, still not managed to find out where as it looks a if the server is off line... I was going to run a track and use a port explorer which may have told me the remote IP address the track is coming off.

The option of DBPoweramp is a great idea as I use this one to convert different file formats to mp3 as nearly all burning software will convert mp3s so they can be listened to on a normal CD player.

Halo as you know I know little about this type thing, so if I am reading it right there is no way to capture the music we are discussing, or would an audio coverter work?

I went to the ddpower amp site, and I see that it is not a freeware, do you know of one that might be reliable that is freeware.

I will wait until I hear from you on both questions.

    Thanks, have a good weekend!!

Q1. No sadly, and I tried again today, those music files are just headers to the music held on a server ( did a IP check and they are coming from RealMedia server )or known as streaming media. NOW I wouldnt say they cannot be captured as I know their will be some software around to capture streaming media... just cannot think of any off hand.

Q2. dbpowerAMP is free or was, just took a look over at their www and looks like its changed since the last time I downloaded it... seems as, if you already had a previos version installed the update to V11 just goes over the top and becomes registered. This si a link to an old version which should still be free http://www.dbpoweramp.com/bin/dMC-r10.exe
