I'm guessing I'll need a Vista capable computer to run this? Also, does Vixta run exactly like Vista or is there still the Linux stuff that you still need to do in the Terminal?

Its GNU/Linux. But with a Vista like interface. No OS can run exactly like Windows except Windows itself. If you need something that runs just like Vista, run Vista! :p

You probably dont need a Vista capable computer, but a blue light special from 6 years ago will probably choke to death on it.

Enable overburning when you burn it. Verify the data to make sure it didnt corrupt.

For the people truly interested in this, please post troubles to the Linux forum. I was just trying to get some Wndows users to see whats available to them by posting here.

It looks very nice, downloading at present as I may run it off Virtual PC, of finally dig out my old desktop and install it on their, just finding time.

Still think though personally going Linux, while is an alternative for Windows, its still not the easiest option "out of box" for many to setup fully.

I concur. This may not run in VPC, even with hardware VT, due to the emulated S3 card :(

I know this is an old thread but just running this off the CD. Looks real good at first blush!
A friend said that this is 10X better than Vista but I think he's had too much caffeine.:D I'm not sure at this point yet!. Seems to work nicely but still needs some polishing. Heck, it's only 0.96 now. I think I'll install this tomorrow if I can. Too bad that it doesn't recognize my screen properly. Ya right Adryn, compile one.LOL Oops, not the *nix forum. Sorry guys.

Anyways, I like the desktop better than Vista, (Really stupid reason eh)? :D http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9116/snapshot1vl3.th.png

BTW, I had to burn this at way slower than 48X, slowest that Nero would give me was 8X but obviously that worked, I made two coasters before that at 48X! BTW, notice the smirking polar bear?
