for those people who said K&N was no good ;)

If some of you remember my thread about my mothers new car some of you said that cold air intake with K&N air filter would lead to car troubles later on take a look here

Now how many people can say that about them cheap paper air filters.:major

This post is not to start anything just wanted to point it out.

 

I would like to know where Carl got a truck that will last a million miles .

 

the problem with that story is that a K&N filter will filter better when it's dirty, but when it's dirty it flows the same as a paper filter, negating the performance gains they claim.

I would not use a K&N filter in a harsh enviroment.

I have a K&N filter in my car with no issues. 76,000 miles and counting.

 

there's nothing inherently wrong with a K&N, I just wouldn't want to run it in a very harsh environment.

I'll likely install a full canister style filter in the Jeep, when I relocate the battery and make a snorkel for it.
