FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH: "LOOKED" LIKE Dos VIRUS

What looked and felt like a Denial of Service Virus, (kept getting :Unable to establish secure connection")turned out to be a huge over use of CPU by AVAST freeware (83%) and perhaps some other bug as Malwarebytes must have helped as well. I saw the log and it was scary looking. Still no access to internet.

We went in via safe mode with networking and 2 browsers did work.Downloaded Malwrbtes :: an immediate message:
"threat appeared 12 days ago":April 8th famous Tuesday patch for windows upgrades. It's hard not to think of some relation with this. Ran a full scan. Then tried to install MCAfee Plus to no avail.

I watched my friend numerous times trying to download a McAfee Plus program, and it just would't do it to the last step.. It pays to be patient as hours later I see a message that I needed to check my Java Script- which did need update..viola! the McAfee loaded and I'm singing . Maybe the fact that McAfee would not load led the savior to sniff out task manager and the other charts and live systems screens to find that high usage just for AVAST being on the compuer. I hope I am explaining this correctly.. If anyone needs a better explanation- i WILL GET IT FOR YOU= JUST WANTED TO SHARE THIS INFO!:-D
