Forgotton Password

I have not used my laptop for a while now, and now I come to use it I have forgotten the login password. Is there a boot disc prog that will help me over this problem??
Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

Hirens boot CD has a program called "Bios Cracker" that will get you past the lockout.

First i would try taking out the bios battery for a couple of minutes and see if that will reset the bios.
If you tell us the make and model of your laptop we can maybe point you to the battery, it is a small round silver (normally but not always) about 2cm across and is located form under the laptop by removing the panels that give access to the memory or hard drive.

Ok try this, it is the bios reset for your Laptop.
To get the battery out is not the easiest of tasks and i do not know how comfortable you are inside your laptop.

Turn the laptop on. Restart it if it is already turned on.


Press the "Del" key as soon as the computer turns on. The BIOS setup utility will load.


Press the "F5" key to reset the BIOS to default values.

Press the "F10" key to save the changes and exit the BIOS setup utility.

 

This is another password cracker but it is just the same as hirens, you have to burn it to a cd and boot from it.

Password Recovery software

I need a good boot prog for either recovering login password or by-passing it,
Has anyone any experience of log in recovery,
This is for my Acer Aspire 3050 Laptop, This not often used so I cannot remember the password,

You should have continued your existing thread here. Is this a BIOS password that you have to input before Windows loads or is it a login password for a Windows account?

when I boot up windows it loads vista and then asks for a password,
does this help?

I am assuming this is the only account on the computer. If you have another account and it has admin privileges then you could log in and change the name of the account you forgot the password on.

You can try ophcrack as BILLMCC66 suggested or another program is PCLogin. Download the iso file then burn it with Imgburn. Boot the CD and select your account name. Make sure the box "Password is empty"
