Kay, got an ancient thinkpad with 2K and XP, got an XP install OEM disk. I want to zap the disk and reinstall XP. It has CD, no Floppy,i think there's usb, i'd have to check, and theres PCMCIA SLOTS and i can use the PCMCIA card from another laptop to connect to the network.

Is the bios set to boot the cd rom first?

Are you pressing any key when asked at startup?

It asks you to pick a install location based on the existing partitions but there is an option to delete and re-created partitions at that same point. I think you may be missing it.
