Format Problem with XP

I am trying to format my C drive which contains windows and all runable programs I aslo have a G drive, its another harddrive itself but having some problems. When I try and format with the windows CD it says it cant find any hard drives on my computer. Any ideas?

Have you tried just going into "My Computer" in windows, and right click on the G drive and then click on format??

yes but im not trying to format the G drive, im trying to format the C one. the one with windows and what not on it. G drive is just extra stuff pics, videos, etc...

Does the bios detect the hard drives, when it boots up??

If, by chance, you are using SATA hard drives...you have to hit F6 while loading Windows setup upon boot!!

hehe its alright, yes bios does detect the HDS and yes one (G Drive) is a SATA yet hitting F6 while booting with windows CD doesnt solve the problem

ive tried unplugging the G drive and booting with CD and it still says no HD found.

any more ideas?

 

ive tried everything that i know, plz someone help me this has been driving me crazy for the last week

 

Try a manufacturers utility from their website.
