This question has probably been covered but I can't find an answer to serve me well.

I have 4 hard drives in my computer. Two of the hard drives I want to wipe clean of everything. These two drives evidently have some OLD system files on them. These drives are not used for anything; thus I want to clean them and use them for storage.

So when I try to format them I get the message - "windows cannot format the system partition on this disk"

What do I do to get these drives emptied and clean? Here is a screenshot of the disk management screen. Disk and F and Disk G are the disks I want to get completely clean.

    Thanks for helping,

Use a utility such as AOMEI Partition Assistant and select the drive in question by clicking on it in the right pane and select Wipe Hard Drive in the left pane and click Apply at the top left.

Dek, you have 4 hard drives but you've partitioned C: Drive, it seems?

C: Drive is also containing L:partition, yes?

    And F: Drive has M:partition?

G: and F: Drives are the actual drives you want to wipe out and start anew, yes?

Just delete F: and M: partitions, and G: appears to be 'cleaned and formatted' already.

From your Disk Management list, I don't see 4 hard-drives, though - only Drives 0, 1 and 2 - so I'm a bit confused by "4 hard drives" and this various partitioning.

I want to apologize to the forum. I supplied incorrect information. As pointed out by ChristineBCW there are only 3 hard drives. The suggestions by PSC02007 and mdonah for programs to use to solve my problem are GREATLY appreciated. I also discovered/remembered that I already have MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition presently installed on my computer. I will decide which program to use. Looks like I have kinda made a fool of myself. I simply did not study my own computer thoroughly enough. Stress I guess. Again, my apologies for supplying incorrect information.

Best Regards to the 3 of you,

    Dekade
