Formatting External Drive

    I have a Seagate External, 500GB, Uses USB Port. I have a backup of my old computer which used XP Windows. I would like to format the drive and backup my new computer which uses Windows Vista Home Premium. Could I click on the drive and click format? Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Hi

    Yes you can plug in the drive and in Computer, right click the drive in question and click format.

    I do mine through Disk Management in Administrative Tools.
