I recently bought a 500GB SeaGate hard drive to replace my 400GB.

Is there a way to fully format the 400GB drive and not install an OS on it? I wanted to use the latter as a second drive, without the extra space used to install a OS.

Hi fella, Welcome to Major Geeks.

Depending on the manufacturer of your pc the original 400G drive may have a hidden partition with manufacturers recovery data on it.
