I need to format my hard drive and I have a current computer running. Do I just unplug the current ahrd drive and stick it in the other computer and boot up?

When I tried that it said press f1 for reboot or f2 for steup utlity.

I thought I could easily plug that in and get a: prompt somehow.

What steps do I need to take to get a prompt so I can format c: ?

windows XP has a built in formatter ... you just insert the CD into your drive and follow the prompts ... just delete the partitions on the drive then set the size of the new ones and install the OS ... of you will lose all your data this way
