Running WIndow 2000 Pro with NTFS system.

I'm formatting some Iomega 100 MB zip disk from MAC to PC (doesn't recognize the MAC format). Should I format it to FAT or NTFS - does it make a difference?

Figure magnetic will last longer than optical, so clinging to the zip disk since what I'm saving is still manageable for zips.

format it to NTFS if you want it to be faster - but im not 100% sure about how much faster than FAT it is. format it to FAT if you want to use it with older windows systems.

fat should work with mac also, but im not sure about this either

    i hope this helps

FAT32 will be recognized by windows, Macs, and linux. I'd say that would be the best to make it universally recognized.

Thanks. I'll stick with NTFS since Windows is my primary system and just using it for back ups.
