Is it possible to format just the C drive, or will formatting wipe my computer completely clean?

YES .... once you boot to your XP cd just follow the prompts and only install or format the C: drive.

if you wish to be extra careful and have multiple hard drives then you can just pull the power cable out of the drive and it will not be seen. but If you have multiple partitions on one HD then only pick and format C: and it will leave the other partitions alone.

if you are re-installing XP then have a read of this http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/OS/InstallXPPro/installxppro1.htm

Well I got done formatting, but now I'm having a problem accessing the internet, I have a dell dim 8250. If anyone has one and has formatted it I could use some help...I can use a computer..kinda...but this is the first time I've actually tried to mess with it...feel free to ask questions or if you can help...or you can make fun of me too..

You may want to be more specific on the problems you are having accessing the internet
