Forums are a godsend

    I wanted to thank all of you for the time you have put into explaining how to remove malicious programs. This weekend I managed to get a beauty of a virus that proceeded to install the ABI/Aurora virus. Well after following the directions on the pinned forums I was able to clean my PC (as far as I know). So farit has been clean. Now as someone who is not an IT person (I do Finance) I felt it was clear and concise. Thank you.

    On another note, there has been a file posted that included 5000 malicious sites that is an INI file you can download and install. Can I get a link for that?

    Happy to hear the stickies helped you. Sometimes Aurora needs a couple other steps to remove. Make sure it is really gone!

    I'm not sure what you are talking about with an INI file. If you are referring to a hosts file that has thousands of sites added to it, we do not recommend using that as it make it way to easy to have malware add good sites to the list and then you cannot get to them. It is easy to hide good sites among the thousands of bad ones.

    I tried a bunch of sites yesterday and didnt get one pop up. I am gonna run my spyware programs again and see what comes up.
