Found Malware Here

I'm also getting a report that this contains malware from my Malwarebytes paid program. This is the first time MBAM prevented me from downloading a file from MajorGeeks.

 

Hmm even Firefox nightly is reporting it as a virus or malware.First time i have seen that happen with Firefox nightly.

I spent the day trying to remove the download popup in FF telling me the file contained a virus or malware.

Multiple times I cleared the download folder. I also cleared the browser cache and history for the day. Every time I opened FF, I got the same popup!!! I also ran search Everything and Agent Ransack which showed me the file was NOT on my computer.

I didn't want to refresh FF because that removes the extensions and theme. I wasn't ready to have to download my extensions and find and download my theme then hope I had all the settings I wanted.

Fortunately I stumbled across a post by a guy who did all the things I did, including disabling all his extensions and that didn't solve the problem.
But he downloaded a clean file/program from another site and that knocked the virus/malware warning off the computer. Phew!!!

So if clearing history, downloads and cache doesn't kill the popup, download something else that doesn't give a warning and the bad download warning is finally gone.

 

I think it's a infected file.If you look at the virus total report it will show more.It's not very often i see that same pop up from firefox nightly.I have been using nightly for about 6 years now and that is the first time i have seen it scan for a virus or malware report.So i am thinking there is some kinda malicious code in there.I just don't read codes very well.

 

I suspect it is infected too because fortunately, even if I wanted to try and install it, my computer would not let me.

I have NEVER gotten a popup like that from anything I've downloaded. I usually download something then right click and scan with Malwarebytes and MS Security Essentials before I attempt to do anything with the download.
