From what your case states it has an onboard Video Card already, and far as for a power supply.. Look up the manufacture information for the make and model of your PC, versus HP's support.hp.com website, and you should be able to find some information about it.

    Best of luck.

You left out one of the most important images - the rear I/O panel. If there is a video out connection, you have the ATI on board graphics.

What do you mean by you "found a computer"?

The 1419h has an onboard video card and the power supply is 630 watt.
I think first i would try a power supply to see if it works then think about giving it some bite with a supplementary GPU and another stick of ram.

630W for a factory built PC using on-board graphics? Are you sure that is not 360W? Dell is too cheap to use more supply than needed.

That's listed as replacement for but i suspect you are right that a much lower wattage was original spec.

Where does Dell enter into this? The first picture clearly has a HP badge in the middle of it. :)

I agree with Digerati, how did you "find" such a new and good quality computer?

Chances are, the motherboard is bad. When PCs are 'found' they are usually in or around a dumpster. The optical drives and power supply were obviously pulled to put in to a different working PC. But then the question is "why is there a stick of RAM and hard drive still in the case?". I think the answer is "the person who got rid of it didn't know any better". If this PC works, it will be a freekin' miracle, and I agree that the first step would be to install a cheap (or used, or borrowed) power supply just to see if the thing even powers on, then proceed from there....

(be sure to clean the CPU heat sink! It's got a decent amount of crud in there!)

Yeah, i just found it on the side of the road near someones trash. Heck of a thing to carry down the road..haha

and I was wondering why to they would just take the power supply out and nothing else. I took out the optical drive and put it in another computer

and i found this power supply
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817255010
and it has no PCI-E Connectors
so i was wondering if i needed those ?

plus, i'm wondering if it has PCI connectors, it doesn't list it, so i'm guessing its just obvious it comes with it..?
but i found the specs of the computer and it says it has 3 PCI slots

they also had stickers on it from bestbuy, so i was guessing they just chose to get a new computer.
    but i still don't know

and i have a power supply from a really old computer, it doesn't have a sata connect...but i plugged it in and the computer comes on and the fan starts up and spins but i'm guessing it can't access the harddrive so, it can't really do anything.
but i think i'm going to buy the PSU from newegg and if it doesn't work, i'll just return it to newegg

Oops. Sorry! Dell or HP - it does not matter. Neither will use 630W PSUs when 360W will do, and cost less.

The motherboard could be dead and other stuff could be bad. I would be very careful about spending money on it.

yeah, i'm scared it has bad parts too.

So I think i'm going to take it into a computer shop, rather then buying one off the web
my friend owns it, so maybe he'll test it out for free

That's a good idea maybe he can thow in a power supply and test it for bad parts.

Be a heck of a good thing if you and your friend can get it going for next to nothing.

Asus motherboard, maybe a P5kSE? What appears to be an aftermarket Cpu cooler? Doesn't look like stock parts for an HP...

I say the easiest thing to do is to just go and find a power supply (very easy at my school since every year they chuck out a few older computers and rotate in new ones) and just plug it in and see if anything works.

Speaking of getting random parts from the junk pile at school, my friends and I managed to find a working LGA 775 P4. Pretty good for building a random PC as a secondary computer.

Why not just go back to where you found it and ask the previous owner what is wrong with it. Since you found it by the trash the previous owner probably would know what is wrong. And would mabey save your buying parts then having to send them back.
