Found some of my photography I took last year...

    I took a photography class a year ago. nothing much, like a community thing for a week. and we went around town (Rochester) and took some pics with a digital. the camera was complete s*** but i managed to snap a few good ones. so tell me what you think. like i siad the quality is poor but i tried to make the most of it. most of the shots are from near the zoo, and lower falls. as you can see, i like to take a lot of nature shots.

    Not sure it was a statue an unnamed artist made. i forget whats it called but it stood like 10 ft tall and just had faces popping out of it every which way. it was near the lower falls in downtown rochester ny.

    I liked this one, but I thought the building messed it up, so I took it out! :)

    Really fun photos, especially with a cheapo camera. I have a cheapo, and I enjoy pushing it to the limit.

    Anyway, here's the photo you took, doctored. Enjoy! :)

    ya, thank goodness my broadband is working (coz sometimes it doesn't).
    I think the pics r cool.. :cool:

    just one tiny critic: the last pic on ur 1st post (de one with the close-up duck)... u should hav focused in on the duck not the grass coz now the duck is blurry while the grass stands out.. just my opinion :) (i didn't take photography classes anyway)

    Waterfall and face pic in your 4th post are very nice :)

    The one with the duck ( blurred ) and grass is compositionaly good, but would have been much better if your camera has a function called Focus Lock as when you lightly touch the button it will lock focus on the duck and you can then move the camera a bit to have the duck in focus and the grass blurred.

    thanks guys, thats cool how you edited that building out btw eclayton, looks a lot better now! :)

    and i dont think i'll be taking more pictures, i just dont have a good enough camera and the patience to go out and take some more.

    The camera is only a small aspect of a good picture, you could have a $3000+ Nikon camera and still take crap pictures! the art of a good picture is mostly in composition.

    If you are going somewhere of interest take your camera fire a few shots off and who knows you may get a really good pic... alot of my best ones have been when I fortunatly had my camera with me and stopped the car when I noticed something interesting, still trying to locate the 20 foot Haybale Man pic I took a while back as I just noticed it in a field when driving back home from having my car serviced.

    Yeah, don't quit now man! You had some nice peaceful shots there. I liked them. Glad you liked my photo chop too. I'm still new at photo chopping.

    Anyway, don't quit, just go out and enjoy it. Have fun.
