Fps

I am using Fraps atm.

I have a 64 3000, 9800 PRO 128MB, 1 gig 3200 and a Sata HD.
Everything has the latest drivers, video card, audio, lan everything.
The HD is defragged, all spyware is cleaned, registry is cleaned with several programs. Nothing else is running, everything that can be closed that doesn't need to run is closed with msconfig and task manager. No viruses but no matter what game I record with in fraps my FPS drops to 10-20FPS when recording. WOW, EQ, EQ2, DAOC, BF2 with every graphic setting on the lowest I stil only get 10-20 FPS.

I emailed the Fraps company and they arent sure why this is happening. I told them in my original email that I already defragged and they replied telling me to defrag so screw them for not reading, just shows they dont care.

On a old game like EQ with everything on the lowest, texture, resolution, no high detailed graphics on. I am talking quality that is required 64MB of ram with a Pentium 200 and a graphics card with 8 MB's!

I shouldn't have low FPS while recording with a system like mine on a game that requires such little power as that. Does anyone know why this could be. I even tried reformatting and still nothing.

 

Check the priority of fraps . make sure its "below normal". Make sure that the priority of the game is high than that of fraps. Then see if you still have the same problem.
