I was reading that you can use double stick tape to put a heatsink on? (im using it for a southbridge) I know its only supposed to be temporary, but is it safe? I just took some double stick tape out of our garage and stuck it on, hope its not gonna mess anything up???

I dont see how it could mess any thing up ( other then it falling off and shorting something out ) thow the thermal propertys of two sided tape prolly arnt that great...

You might think about what ya said! I dont think your garage tape is working!

I'd suggest some Artic Silver Thermal Adhesive, or even some real Frag tape.

    Sorry,
The reason is once it's stuck it's there forever.
If you do the 50/50 it would be possible to remove it.

It even states this on your page at Newegg, product discription/features=
Features Made with 99.8% pure micronized Silver
62% to 65% Silver content by weight
Superior thermal conductivity. Greater than 7.5W/mK.
Temperature Range is -40C to >150C
    Caution:
Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive is a permanent adhesive. Components you attach with
Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive will stay attached forever.

I normaly use some AS5 and some super glue....I put some AS5 in the middle of the chip and put a circle or super glue around it...AS5 and super glue dont play well when mixed BTW
