FRAPS! and lag :(

    alright got fraps, because I've got this adobe premiere pro, and figured I'd put it to use, anyways, my neighbor is the CS player he was gunna record and I was going to edit, but FRAPS causes a drop to the 30s and 40s of FPS, read this is normal in some places, but others say it casues little to no lag, I was wondering if there is any way to fix this? Specs- windows xp MCE, GB of ram, ati x800xl, 3.0 HT intel processor. Any help greatly appreciated.:)

    sorry I didn't post this at all though... I posted in the other forum that my computer overall had slowed down, I never asked about FRAPS, I'm asking about the program it self. sorry for the confusion
