A few days ago somehow I've clicked something while in my Opera web browser. Somehow, like the text here as I type is like the smallest you can choose. I've googled for ways to change icon sizes etc but to no avail. This is on a laptop with Windows 10 which was updated to the new version 2004 on 15 August maybe a day or 2 before this problem. At the time it occurred I was quite sleep deprived due to the mini-heatwave we had in the UK and my fourth floor apt was like a sauna. So I may have clicked on something in error.
    1. Immediately after the version 2004 update I created an external bootable recovery drive.
    2. I also had system restore points pre and post that version - both have failed after leaving the 'please wait for windows to .....' for over 6 hours, which of course means they're not gonna
    3. Trying to use the external recovery led me to not remembering where I had written down my system password (I've used a PIN for signing on) but it wants the admin PW. I've completed a Microsoft account recovery online form which they say will be answered in 24hrs if the details I gave identify me.
    4. I do have another laptop, not yet updated to 2004 and will remain that way until I've sorted this icon size thing out. But I'm literally having my eyes within 12" of the screen to read clearly! lol

I'm sorry this is so wordy but if anyone has any ideas about the icon size I'd be very grateful.
I can deal with sorting out my Microsoft acc thing when they reply. I'm at least thankful I did create a recovery drive.
With very best wishes to everyone at this time which is pretty complicated as we all know.

It's not really clear exactly what problem you are having - a pic or two would be more helpful, but you can usually change the size of text and other objects using Ctrl and the plus sign. Ctrl and minus make things smaller and Ctrl and Zero reset everyhing to your system default.

Thank you so much for replying. Your suggestion using ctrl + or _ worked perfectly. I don't know why I missed that when searching the issue online but it's a learning curve. And your help was great.
    Many thanks

Also hitting CTRL while scrolling your mouse wheel will do this. It is pretty common occurrence on laptops using touchpads, my users do it all the time and call me. I've done it in explorer when selecting multiple files, it will change the view. Now you know & knowing is half the battle.
