Free alternative to Spysweeper?

I've been happily using Spysweeper for the last 2 years, and it's now time to renew my subscription. I'm wondering if there's anything out there that can do as good a job but for free. I currently use Spyware Blaster and Adaware in addition to it, with AVG for viruses. Any recommendations?

 

Spybot Search and Destroy would be a good addition too.

 

Does it not have a realtime blocker too? I already have Spyware Blaster but Spysweeper seemed to help keep everything out. I'll give it a try though and thanks for the link to the guide, I'll be sure to check it out

 

I used to have that, but when I realised the combination of Spyware Blaster and Spysweeper pretty much kept everything out I uninstalled it. I'm not sure the realtime blocker is as powerful as something like Spysweeper or Spyware Doctor.

 

Nah it's not as good as Spyware Blaster but it runs off the same engine as it. So the both running together would be pretty good.
