Free audio mixing & "DJ" software needed

Free or open source DJ software needed!! I have found these two (and I haven't looked real hard either) :

Thanks foogoo!!! That 2nd link has some freekin' AMAZING software that I had no idea even existed!!! Fully bootable live multimedia-focused operating systems??!!!!??!?!?!!!??!?!?!??!!??!??!?! :dood Too cool :cool

(a client is actually a pretty good DJ/mixmaster, but he doesn't have the money for Propellerhead software or FrootyLoops or Cakewalk or...... I just found out that FL has a sale until Aug31 - FLstudio9 is only $49 - but unfortunately even $49 may be too much)

I have a related question...

I am an intermediate level PC users, but novice at DJ type software....no clue.

I have about 10 mp3 tracks on my pc and I would like to "splice" about 1 minute of each of these songs into a single file....it will be a wedding gift, basically taking the couples favorite 10 songs and hopefully creating a nice mix mp3 file they can dance to at their wedding....

is there some basic mp3 editing software you'd recommend?
