free dvd player and dvd editor

does any body know of a freeware that would allow me to play dvd and edit dvd recordings via windows xp?

i think gordon knot, will do it...try www.videohelp.com that is probably the best place to go for anything video encoding/editing related, or www.doom9.net is another highly respected place...

they do nothing but free stuff and some paid stuff, have a download section for your needs and choose from free to paid programs....and tutorials on how to do what you want...plus a FORUM section
