Free movie viewing software

    I was just curious what is the best movie viewing software, free ofcourse!!

    I've always used what came with the DVD drive, so I've never used any thirdparty software, but I'm fixing a computer for a buddy, and his dvd-rom doesn't have any movie viewing software, so I need something free and that will be easy for him to figure out how to use, since he is not the most computer literate person in the world!!

    So I was just looking for opinions before I pick one for his system!!
