Checked to see if there was an online minidump analyzer to avoid installing one (got so many tools installed already). I found this:

    http://www.osronline.com/page.cfm?name=analyze

I decided to post it today, thinking some of the MG experts and other geeks out there might like to bookmark the page. Sorry, I don't know anything about the site or its administrators, but the minidump analyzer works in about 5-10 seconds and creates a nice .html report.

    You're welcome.

I think this is a site designed to assist driver programmers. I suppose the tool is there for them to be able to have a quick look at blue screen information associated with the drivers they write.

If an analyser can make the process of reviewing a crash dumps easier then I know I'm all for it as using Windows Debug can be a pain.

BlueScreenView by NirSoft is a quick good app for reviewing dump files and getting a meaningful message to help diagnose an issue.

    DavidGP...

Weird thing happened when I tested this online tool. It said that debugging on this PC was off, and that I should turn it on to get a fuller report. The report seemed more or less full to me, anyway, but I wonder what turned off debugging in Windows. It seems the bluescreen problem was something to do with graphics driver and Firefox's plugin-container.exe. It's not chronic.

I have Windows XP SP3 on this PC, and I located the debug setting in msconfig. It's in the boot.ini tab under advanced. Do you or would anyone happen to know what the /Bugreport, /Baudrate, and /Channel choices should be under the /Debug section?

Just another curiosity in the everyday life of a PC junkie I guess...
