Free Partitioner

    I may be asking in the wrong place but can anyone recommend a freeware rival to Nortons Partition Magic? Im bored and want to try out my Ubuntu download and cant wait for myself to finish building the spare machine.I dont want to lose my data on current machine.:)

    I think Ubuntu has a step-to-step partitioning procedure to partition your HD in order to install. Just be careful as the default option is to use the entire disk!

    Should I defrag first?And XP will be untouched?

    Please see this thread on how to configure a dual-boot system. This thread assumes that you already have Windows installed, so your installation should be untouched.

    Don't worry about defragging...it won't help in this case.
