Free password revealer?

When I logged on to-day I had a message that my logon password expires in 14 days,did I want to change it. I have never heard of this before so I put in my log-in name and password and it would not except it. Don't know if this could be a virus or hacker but I thought that I would try to find out what the password is. Know of an application to do this? Thanks.

Logged on to what? Your computer? I see you have xp, but I also see that you posted.

So, is this to a website? Another program?

 

When I first booted up to-day I got a blue screen with the message before it booted into the OS . When I clicked cancel it then finished booting up my OS. Hope I have been clear enough without confusing you too much,I'm not sure how else to put it.
