Free PDF making software

Can anyone recommend free PDF making software? I have adobe reader, but this doesn't allow me to create PDFs.

I use PrimoPDF. Even though I have Acrobat, Primo is quicker for just making pdf files.

 

So does anyone see a difference in these that should be noted? I was about to propose the cost of buying licenses for Adobe Acrobat v. 8 at work (which will be significant) but if we can use any one of these (basically to create .pdf files from Word, Excel, PowerPoint) then we'll do that.

Am I correct in that these all do that? I clicked on the links and read them. They seem to be similar (except the "watermark" thing)

Preferences anyone?

 

I agree with Halo! There are all sorts of great PDF creating apps that are available for free. I'd suggest only purchasing Acrobat if you desperately need to edit existing PDF files. I haven't found anything better for that task, myself.

 

Great - this is what I needed to know. Actually it isn't editing that we really need...it's creating. We just always used Acrobat so figured with our growing company, we needed to sink money into more licenses with the newer version.

Wow - not only do I learn things here, now I can save money too.

 

We've used PDF995 here at work with good success...no watermarks and no need for ghostscript that I can recall.
