Hello I'm new on here and I am also a very keen gamer.

I recently bought FreeLancer, and when I got to the store they told me they had just got a second delivery in, when I saw the shelves divoid of a copy I was rather anxious, but when the guy told me that they had the next supply in after selling out the first day, I was over the moon.

I think its a fab game, no complaints so far, and I'm not easy to please, does anyone else have any thoughts on this great game?

Please go easy on me here as I am somewhat weary of forums as I've had nasty experiences elswhere, and get offended easy (health probs to blame for that one) lol :D

    Cheers

    Falcon ;)

Well I would'nt hang about too long if I were you! but that's easy for me to say, all I do know is that if fighting , trading, exploring in space is your thing then go for it, you won't be disappointed!!! :D

It runs perfect for me on my system which is:

    AMD Athlon XP 2200+
    WinXP
    GeForce 3 Ti 200 128MB DDR
    512MB DDR
    Soundblaster PCI 128
    Maxtor 80gig HD

Most of that is relatively new, except for one or two things which are ancient, namely the soundcard! lol

Forgot to mention that there is a Storyline to folow, but you can branch off and do your own thing and then when you feel like a mission simply rejoin the Campaign, top top game in my Book!

Not many games I can say that about. lol

I had a lot of fun /w Freelancer. Friend of mine set up a LAN server, and we had fun with multiplayer for quite awhile.

I would'nt be able to play multi-player even if I wanted too because I only have dial-up :(

Having said that I'm not a fan of multi-player, too worried about making a fool of myself! LOL

Rise of Nations has taken the best of the CIV world and the Age of Empires world and added a "Risk" like twist to it along with cool little features like "Battle Cards" that give you special skillz for a single battle.

It has a wicked randomizer built in that will alllow replay value for a long time.

The tutorial missions are the best i have ever seen, and they have done a good job of REALLY killing micro-management (or allowing you to turn it up massively if you so desire)

All in all, going from Barbarian like living to Space age satellite bombs in one day vs. up to 10 nations is amazing.

    Graphics are decent

    Audio is good.

The game over all is a great strategy game. The best i have seen yet!

freelancer is very najs indeed, i'm playing it atm for about a week 9hours a day or so. Not much time for other games :/ I do have some bad points =o

freelancer does seem to be very easy tough, the only real battle
I met so far was a rheinland fleet of 3 cruisers, a battleship, 4 gunships and a dozen fighters. that was kinda scary btw

not wanting to bitch, but the missions kinda suck :p recently found out that there are 3 kinds, go there and kill him, go there and bring him/it back and go there and destroy base. very addictive tough, but haven't finished the game yet so can't fully judge it.

overall its a very good game, with lots of voice acting wich is nicely done, even tough you can hear its kinda several soundfiles pasted behind one another so to speak, you don't notice it after some time. the chars move very smoothly, realistic explosions, lasers and such, lots of weapons, trading goods, ships. different sound for each ship, VERY easy control, in the bar where you can find info and jobs and a bit more there is also a news monitor in wich you can follow the news. Very nice storyline as well. it runs great on my old 900mhz, TNT2 447mb ram.

if you don't have a space combat/trading game this year this one should be yur first pick :D

I love It , and Falcon, if you buy an ethernet card you will be able to play games on a Local Area Network.
thats the thing I like most about the game, just hijacking a system with your friends and shoot em all, great game, but indeed. the mission variety is a litle low..

Freelancer is a real good game in my opinions, unfortunately it seemed kinda short, but i LOVED how the story develops, for those of you still in it, near the end you will see some SURPRISING twists in the plot involving trent juni and king.
