Freeware spytools not working

I downloaded the recommended Ad-Aware SE, Spybot S&D with plugin, and Remove about:blank freeware from majorgeeks link. Ad-Aware will run the scan and show 190+ critical objects, then will freeze up and I'm not able to delete or quarantine or anything. Task manager will shut it down, and the same thing happens next time it's run. Spybot will scan and I keep getting the same stuff on every scan, 6 entries of DSO. It says it fixed the problem, but still there even if I run the scan again immediately . Since I have the about blank homepage problem, and junk sites added to my favorites list, I tried to run the Remove about :blank tool, but to use it , they want me to register and give my credit card #. Doesn,t seem like freeware to me. Any suggestions as to why this happens and what to do about it? Thanks

 

Download and run this, it will fix the spybot DSO problem. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4392.html Try fixing it in safe mode, afterwards. Press F8 while the computer is booting up.
