Thanks bud, but while it's listed as freeware the top of their page says... "Our products are available for download and evaluation with a 30-day evaluation license."

    Anything else?

    Print Scrn: captures entire screen
Alt+Print Scrn: (tap Print Scrn twice while holding Alt button) this captures active window.

...these should work in win 2000.? i'm sure it does.

Why must it be command line? If you can elaborate.. maybe we can find something...

We'll be sending a command from a Linux box to numerous unattended Windows machines for a screen capture, so we'll need a program to run locally on the Windows boxes which will be launched that could grab a screenshot with some simple command via the command line. I've found programs that do it but cost money, and I've found lots of freeware that will capture but don't have command line capabilities... Looking for a combination and I know it's out there... Hope that elaboration helps... and again guys I appreciate the help...
