Freezing during games

I'm having an issue with my PC, hoping to get some help. Basically, when I play games, over time my PC will completely freeze, sound cuts off and it stays that way. It happens at random times.

One thing that forces the freeze, if I re-size the windows media player window on my second monitor really fast, while the game is running, seems to cause the system to freeze. Without re-sizing the windows media player window, it might run for hours and not freeze, or it might go for a bit a freeze.

    My System:
i7 920 at 3.36gHz (tried getting rid of the overclock, samething)
    SLI EVGA 570 GTX (Stock)
    6gb OCZ Ram
EVGA x58 SLI3 Mobo (year old)
    Corsair 1050 PSU

From what I can see, nothing is over heating, all my temps are fine. Stress testing software seems to run fine. Event viewer only shows "Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D" but not always when I get the freeze and I dont think this is related.

Any ideas/thoughts? Could it be the cause of music software (windows media player or itunes) causing the freeze? however, I tried foobar2000 which is a much more lightweight media player, with that, resizing the window did not cause a freeze, but after playing for 30ish minutes I got a freeze anyway.

Here are a few of the things I have tried to fix this:

    1) Uninstalling and re-installing nvidia drivers.
    2) Checked the BIOS on the mobo and it is up to date.
    3) Tried removing overclocks.
    4) Ran MemTest86+ v4.2 for 11 complete passes (11+ hours), no errors.

    Here are some observations:

    1) Games that cause this complete freeze are located on 2 different SSDs (1 of which has windows on it, other one doesnt). So makes me think it isnt the SSD, unless its a windows problem.
    2) CPU core temps on Black Ops 2 range from 50-54 using RealTemp.
    3) GPU temps are 60 for GPU1 and 59 for GPU2 (give or take a degree) using MSI Afterburner.

Also, some shorter tests, some which I will try for longer duration:
    1) 15 minute memory, 3D Graphics and audo test with BurnInTest Pro Trial, all passed.
    2) OC Scanner from EVGA ran for 20ish minutes, no issues. Temps were higher then when gaming, 79-82. However, with full load and it being warmer in the house, I kinda expected this.

I'll try to run OC Scanner longer and also Prime95 to see what happens, however after I get some school stuff out of the way this week, I'll probably just reformat in hopes of it being a driver/software/registry/something stupid issue that can be fixed with a clean instal.
