freezing,, should I downgrade?

I have a 9 month old asus laptop
MSwindows 7 Home premium 64-bit
Genuine Intel CPU U7300@1.30GHz, 4.0 GB RAM, Mobile Intel 4 series express chipset family

The problem I have is it will freeze upon occasion, sometimes I have a few windows open, sometimes I dont, I am not sure why it freezes,it should have enough memory to handle anything, right?
my friend had a similar problem, her compuer would just freeze up, same as mine, and after a while, through hitting Tab-Alt a lot, or some buttons, it would unfreeze,,,,recently her computer just stopped working all together,
I fear this will happen to my computer

so I should contact them again to look at my computer for malware? or could this be something simple?

To tackle your problem; the amount of RAM you have has little to do with your freezing, it's probably more to do with the CPU waiting for other bottlenecks to clear. I'd suspect poor drivers, Security programs, slow hard drive access, too many startups, tasks running on a schedule, etc.

The first thing you need to do is work out how to lighten the load on your PC, start Task Manager as soon as you logon and learn how to use it, together with ResMon, to track down the freezes. Once you can pinpoint the areas of your PC that are being stressed, you can begin to work on reducing the 'traffic' in those areas.

If you suspect malware, you know there's a section of the forum here with great helpers who'll ensure your laptop is clean.

 

Yeah... you couldn't PAY ME to trust some random site to have full access to my computer.
