i've attatched a everest scan that i did before i wiped it clean. i'm not sure (they are not sure), if they have any driver discs. i kinda have some other threads for this comp, i've posted the links below. thx, for any help. - sos

Hi I am unable to view the flikr file due to restrictions.

You should have wrote down the driver names before you formatted, it's the number 1 rule of IT.
If you are unable to remember the names/titles of the hardware the best way is to just open it up and look at what the motherboard make it and go from there (should be a sticker on there somewhere)

ok, i'll check it out in a bit, i might have to take my g/f to the hospital. i've already fixed 2 problems, 1 was fixed with a ms update (i believe it was the modem). i also went to my "screenshots" on other thread, and was able to figure out my "multimedia audio controller", which was "realtek AC'97 Audio Codecs", and i have sound. now that i've gone to your thread, i see the audio driver there (at the bottom).

all that's left is "other pci bridge device", and "sm bus controller". anyway, thx alot guys - sos

i will check your link out 1st, but should i d/l this from microsoft, or wait?

ok, i have not done this yet, and i'm confused.

http://www.uabit.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=93 <-- (Hot To Upgrade BIOS)

    (below, is from that page)
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=2104251902&size=o <-- BIOS Folder (nvraid_v103) <-- when you double click the executible, it creates a folder with the files in the pic above, there is no .bin file

http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=2104251906&size=o <-- in the BIOS Flash Utility, there is a .bin file

so, this is confusing to me, i know they are showing an example Select motherboard model and bios file.
i think the "sm bus controller" has to do with the realtek audio, but i'm not sure if the bios thing will fix that? thx, sos

That confuses me, too. Never had to have anyone flash the BIOS in order to install the chipset drivers before.
I just got some advice. If you can get all your drivers working without flashing the BIOS... That would be best.
Try just downloading just the chipset drivers and see if they will install. The date on them is the same as your Everest scan report. So you probably also have the newest BIOS already.

well, it looks like all is good. however, now i have 1 problem (it might not be a problem, but i don't like it), and, i have 1 question.

http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=2109123859&size=o <-- (after i did all of the ati installation, and abit driver installation this started coming up) - is there anyway to get rid of this? basically, it's a sata drive, and i partioned it (on os installation), and that is what you see in the pic.

http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=2109123877&size=o <-- this popped up after nvidia installation, i have no idea where this came from, is there anyway to get rid of it (it just bugs me when you look at device manager)?

Sorry, don't have much of an answer on the last post. I don't know much about HDD. That is a little out of my experience.
The nvidia drivers are part of your chipset and run your built-in NIC card. I don't see any way ( or why you would want ) to clear them off of the device manager list.

For the nVidia network controller with the red X, right-click it and select disable. Then it will not appear in device manager.
