i did a fresh install of vista but now my browsers...mozilla and IE are insanely slow... its not the internet its the browsers, if i click new tab it takes about 30 seconds to do it, if i highlight the web adrs it takes about 7 seconds...normally this stuff is instant. iv never used vista before so unsure if its normal but what can i do to fix it? all other aspects are perfect like opening my documents etc they load up quite quick...its just the browsers

What is your make, and model of PC?

How old is it, and how much RAM do you have?

Did you upgrade to Vista, or did your PC come with and older operating system such as XP?

Did you install a 32, or a 64 bit version?

Ugh, one gig of ram. So, my guess is 32bit version of vista. I'd recommend upgrading to 2 gig at least. Than, Vista will run fine. I'm assuming you have ran all windows updates?

This PC is going on six years old. At this point in it's service life it could have hard drive issues, or even RAM issues. The average lifespan of an average hard drive is about five years depending on usage. Without a CPU upgrade, this Small Form Factor PC is running a single core, 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 processor with a 1MB L2 cache and that is most likely a Socket 478.

There are many things that could be at issue, but if it's the original 80 GB hard drive, that is where I would start to look for trouble.

Make sure your motherboard's chipset drivers are up to date along with the video driver.
